Police will take control of 82 public recreation areas in the Vitebsk region
By decisions of city and district executive committees, 82 places of mass recreation have been authorized this year, 69 of which are located near water bodies.
—Systematic raids will be conducted there in favorable weather, on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and OSVOD, forest rangers, and representatives of other departments will join the patrols, —said Vyacheslav Petkun, head of the public order and prevention department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. — The main tasks are to ensure public order, road and fire safety, prevent deaths on the water, and protect the personal property of citizens.
Police officers are primarily focused on preventing crimes and offenses. In particular, on stopping the consumption of alcoholic beverages, swimming, smoking, and lighting fires in prohibited areas. Access roads to water bodies and the sides of roads will not be overlooked. Many people go on vacation by car and often park them in violation of traffic rules.
— Swimming in prohibited areas is punishable by a fine of up to 3 basic units, abuse of alcohol — up to 15 basic units, hooliganism — up to 30 basic units or administrative arrest, — noted Vyacheslav Olegovich. — I will once again remind you that those who wish to swim or light a fire must observe the necessary safety rules. And parents should not leave their children unattended.
