Mini-football club Vitebsk became the owner of the Super Cup of the Republic of Belarus
It would seem that such a mistake should break the moral qualities of the guests, but it turned out differently: the Orsha team went forward and achieved their goal. Sergey Silivonchik shot strongly from the left edge of the pitch, and the ball flew into the net from the goalkeeper's leg. "Lidselmash" began to press the opponent, but conceded a quick attack, which was finished by Anton Gusakov. Five minutes before the end of the main time of the match, Viktor Tarchilo's team switched to playing with five field players (removed the goalkeeper). V. Zhigalko missed an excellent opportunity to reduce the deficit, shooting wide from half a meter. Artem Ros restored the intrigue in the match with a penalty for a handball, but in the end, "Viten" celebrated the victory - 3:2!
— Football luck was on our side today. Teams of equal level met on the pitch, but luck smiled on us. The ball conceded half a second before the break did not break us. An army of fans came to support the team, which, unfortunately, drowned out my instructions. It was necessary to hold the central zone, but our player did not hear it and played as we agreed before the game. Nothing terrible, we continued to play, especially since we looked good physically. The team has been "living" this match for a whole month. The trophy will give us confidence, add good mood, — commented the victory the head coach of "Viten" Alexey Popov.
It is noteworthy that the Super Cup remained the only republican tournament that the "energy workers" had not yet won. Previously, the industry team of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Belarus had won the national Cup three times and the national championship as many times. In the 2007/08—2008/09 seasons, it represented Novolukoml, in the 2009/10—2010/11 seasons – Orsha, from the 2011/12 season – Vitebsk, from the 2016/17 season – Orsha again. "Viten" plays its home matches at the "Olimpiec" sports complex, which opened in the district center two years ago.
