Minsk police suspect a Vitebsk resident of a series of major frauds

April 14, Minsk /BELTA/. Minsk police suspect a 27-year-old resident of Vitebsk of committing a series of frauds in the capital. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee. Using the Internet, he searched for trading companies that sold goods on deferred payment. Then he contacted the sellers, introduced himself as a representative of another company, and offered to conclude an agreement. If he received a positive response, the man presented fake documents, sealed the reached agreements with his signature and a forged seal. At the same time, the Vitebsk resident looked very respectable, had good manners, skillfully used trade terminology, etc. As noted by the police, the result of a competent psychological approach were multi-million contracts, followed by product shipment. Thus, in Minsk alone, in a very short period, on behalf of a non-existent company, this person concluded wholesale agreements with five trading firms, organized the export of goods, as well as their sale in Minsk and Vitebsk according to already established schemes. As it turned out, the suspect's identity was already known to Vitebsk police officers. In the regional center, he had also managed to attract the attention of law enforcement officers. As soon as the Vitebsk resident realized that law enforcement officers were interested in him, he fled to the capital. He tried to cover his tracks and observe the rules of conspiracy: he repeatedly changed mobile phones, SIM cards, and arrived at deals in different cars. However, these measures did not help, and Minsk operatives detained the Vitebsk resident at the moment of selling another batch of goods. A criminal case has been initiated against the man under Part 4 of Article 209 "Fraud" of the Criminal Code of Belarus, which provides for up to ten years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. Law enforcement officers assume that the suspect "worked" not only in Minsk and Vitebsk, but also in other cities. The police ask those who have suffered from this person's actions to call the Central District Department of Internal Affairs of Minsk at (017) 288-83-02.-0-
