The Miory Central District Hospital must be commissioned ahead of schedule - Vasily Zharko

The Miory Central District Hospital needs to be commissioned ahead of schedule. This task was set today during the visit to this facility by the Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus, Vasily Zharko.

"The readiness of the main building is 95-98%. Why postpone until May 9 (the planned commissioning date. - Ed. BELTA) if it can be commissioned one or two months earlier, so that people can receive medical care in good conditions," Vasily Zharko said, addressing representatives of regional and district authorities. For his part, he promised to consider the issue of financing the facility when forming the republican budget. A similar step is expected from the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. The Deputy Prime Minister also drew attention to the need to locate the polyclinic department next to the main building. For now, it is planned to be located in one of the detached buildings of the hospital. "This is important for ensuring the accessibility of medical care," Vasily Zharko emphasized.

As reported by the Deputy Chairman of the Miory District Executive Committee, Leonid Lyasovich, the construction of the Central District Hospital is considered a long-term project. The total cost of the facility is Br17.2 million. Financing for this year is provided in the amount of Br8 million (50% each from the republican and regional budgets). Almost the entire volume of these funds has already been utilized. The new hospital will include a main three-story building with a total area of 6 thousand sq.m. It will house the surgical, operating, intensive care, therapeutic, and obstetric departments. Heating was connected to the building a week ago, and finishing work is currently underway. The hospital also includes an auxiliary building (readiness - about 50%), a boiler house using local types of fuel (about 40%), a food block, a transformer substation, and a medical gas building (foundation laid). Engineering networks have been installed. In parallel with the main work, landscaping of the territory is being carried out. Currently, it is 85% complete. The current hospital includes 11 buildings located in different parts of the city, which is inconvenient for both residents and the staff of the medical institution.
