Mikhail Myasnikovich: The finances invested in preparing Horadok for the "Dazhynki" festival must pay off

Михаил Мясникович: Финансы, вложенные в подготовку Городка к «Дажынкам», должны себя оправдать

The Vitebsk region has many construction projects, which lays a good foundation for the region's development. This opinion was expressed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Mikhail Myasnikovich, during a working trip to the Horadok district. The head of government familiarized himself with the organization of work at the livestock complex "Virovlyansky" of IP "Detskoselsky – Horadok" and the region's preparations for the republican festival-fair of agricultural workers "Dazhynki".

The concern

"Detskoselsky" of the Leningrad region established a company in the Horadok district in 2007. At that time, it was a blank field. Today, it is a modern livestock complex where Holstein cattle are kept, "extra" grade milk is produced, its own feed is prepared, calves are growing, and the territory has expanded to 13 thousand hectares. In short, a full cycle of milk production has been organized, which is supplied to the Russian factory "Danone". The company is profitable and has the opportunity to invest in development. The construction of another dairy farm is planned for next year.

The initiator of the company's establishment, the president of the concern

"Detskoselsky" Yuri Braginets believes that the key to the success of a livestock complex is feed with normative content of necessary elements, a good breeding base, and also proper conditions for keeping livestock. Mikhail Myasnikovich supported him in this, adding that the human factor and personnel potential are also important. In this aspect, the agricultural enterprise has also succeeded: local residents who work here hold on to their jobs, as the average salary is decent – 7.5 million rubles. The concern pays great attention to the training and professional development of employees. Currently, seminars are conducted by visiting specialists from the parent enterprise, and in the future, the organization of a Milk Academy in St. Petersburg is planned.

– Everything can be done if you approach it professionally and with full responsibility. This farm is quite successfully engaged in dairy farming. It is a foreign enterprise, but it is a resident of the Republic of Belarus, Vitebsk region, pays taxes to the local budget, provides people with jobs and decent wages. Therefore, there should be more such economic entities. We will do everything possible to promote the implementation of such projects, – emphasized Mikhail Myasnikovich. As for the dairy complexes of the Vitebsk region, they are also increasing milk production thanks to reconstruction. The Prime Minister noted that the invested funds are already paying off.

The funds allocated for the preparation of Gorodok for

"Dazhynki" should also pay off, so that the created and reconstructed facilities not only surprise the festival guests, but also continue to work for the city's economy, be useful to local residents, and attract tourists. However, on the whole, the progress of the district center's preparation for the festival did not impress the Prime Minister: there is still a lot to be done. Two months remain, and they must be used to the maximum to bring the large-scale construction to a logical conclusion.

As reported by Vladimir Terentyev, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, the readiness of the facilities is currently 62%. The central square has already been landscaped, the "Rodina" cinema is nearing completion, a market with covered roller shutters has appeared behind the bus station, which has also acquired new features during the reconstruction. Retail facilities are 80% ready. Capital and current repairs of the housing stock are proceeding at a high pace.

– All services will hand over their facilities before the festival. Some of them will be commissioned on September 1. We will do everything possible for this, – assured the Prime Minister representatives of the regional authorities. – Construction organizations are working without days off, everyone understands the importance of the tasks set. And the lag in some facilities is due to untimely financing. The town is the "gateway" to the Vitebsk region, the Republic of Belarus, so its transformation is a long-term effort.

A decision has been made to concentrate attention on facilities with a high degree of readiness. The Prime Minister emphasized that much now depends on the organization of labor and discipline. Republican bodies will provide the necessary support.

Summing up the visit to the Vitebsk region, Mikhail Myasnikovich noted that not every region can boast such a scale of construction and targeted solutions for attracting foreign investment, including in agriculture. This favorably distinguishes the region from others. It is also gratifying that new productions are opening, which means new jobs are being created.

The Prime Minister also touched upon the ongoing harvest campaign.

– The harvesting is not expected to be easy, with a lot of lodged grain. About 600 thousand hectares across the country are in this condition, almost half of which is in the Vitebsk region. The issues are being addressed quite competently, but farm managers, district heads, and regional authorities should pay more attention to them. Under no circumstances should we allow the grain to be lost. But overall, the harvest promises to be good. It is necessary to organize activities using all personnel and equipment reserves, – Mikhail Myasnikovich summarized.
