Mikhail Myasnikovich met with members of the Liozno Youth Chamber
– In Russia, for example, much is being done to develop youth parliamentarism. This is one of the powerful directions of youth policy. The Belarusian Republican Youth Union should pay more attention to this issue, – said Mikhail Myasnikovich.
Welcoming the members of the Youth Chamber, the Chairman of the Council of the Republic expressed a wish that they should not limit their public activities to their native region.
– I would like the activities of the youth to reach the republican level, – he noted. Mikhail Myasnikovich told the young parliamentarians about the work of the National Assembly of Belarus and noted the significance of the parliamentary traditions that have developed in our country.
– Belarus is a full-fledged state, established in all respects, which is recognized in the world and whose opinion is taken into account. Belarusian parliamentarism has a rich history that is rooted deep in the past, – he added.
The Youth Chamber under the Liozno District Council of Deputies began its work in December 2010 and became a pilot project in the Vitebsk region. Among its main tasks are making proposals to local government bodies on youth policy issues, and assisting in the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of youth.
