OPINION. Denis Glebko: "We understand that behind the situation with the migration policy and the closure of border crossings by our neighbors are other people who are directing them."
– Alexander Lukashenko, at the VII All-Belarusian People's Congress, clearly stated our state's position regarding the situation along the external borders. The Russian Federation remains our ally, whom we constantly support. As for the challenges, risks, and threats to our state, we are always ready to repel the enemy, keeping our powder dry. However, despite all the ongoing events – exercises and militarization of neighboring states – we are committed to constructive dialogue. And the Head of State's message says that we must be ready at any time, under any conditions and circumstances, to react promptly and immediately, to strengthen our borders, while pursuing a peace-loving policy.
We guard the borders of the Motherland around the clock, and when certain "escalations" occur, I mean the situation with the migration policy and the closure of border crossing points by neighboring states, we understand that behind all such actions of our neighbors from Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland, there are other people who direct them. In turn, if it becomes necessary to open border crossing points from our side, it will be done immediately in order to maintain both economic ties and good-neighborly relations.
