OPINION. Gennady Sabinich: "Today our country has made a fateful choice and entered a new stage of its development"
Gennady Sabinich, Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, delegate of the VII All-Belarusian People's Congress:
- Today our country has made a fateful choice and entered a new stage of its development. We have elected the current President of the country as the Chairman of the Supreme State Council.
Under his leadership, over 30 years, the country has come a long way: it has preserved its sovereignty, become a modern, high-tech country where the interests of the common person are paramount.
Now our task is to preserve these principles and pass them on to the next generation of politicians.
This is not an easy task, and it is only within the power of a national leader like Alexander Lukashenko.
And we, the delegates, and all Belarusians, must conscientiously and honestly do our job, work for the good of the country, and maintain our unity. Time has chosen us!
