OPINION. Oleg Buevich: "I consider it the right decision that the Head of State was elected Chairman of the VII All-Belarusian People's Congress"
Oleg Buevich, Chairman of the Novopolotsk City Council of Deputies, participant of the VII All-Belarusian People's Assembly:
- The All-Belarusian People's Assembly is a major outcome of many years of work on adopting the new version of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus. I was fortunate to be a member of the constitutional commission, three meetings of which were held under the leadership of our President. And the guidelines that were voiced then by the Head of State were implemented in the new Constitution – a new representative body has been created – the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, which has begun its work. Today, in his speech, the President emphasized that all this is being done for future generations, so that they can protect the country and defend what has been laid down over the past thirty years. I consider it the right decision that the Head of State was elected Chairman of the VII All-Belarusian People's Assembly, and Alexander Kosinets – as his deputy. I am confident that under their leadership, the new body and the Presidium of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly will perform their functions, and everything will be built for the benefit of our country and our people.
