The opinion of scientists was taken into account during the development of the Concept for the creation of infrastructure in the historical districts of Polotsk
April 25, Minsk /Corr. BELTA/. The opinions of scientists and the Church have been taken into account in the development of the Concept for the creation of infrastructure in the historical districts of Polotsk. This was announced today during an online conference on the BELTA website by the Chairman of the Polotsk City Executive Committee, Alexander Poznyak.
The concept for the creation of infrastructure in the area of the Spaso-Yevfrosinievsky Monastery and St. Sophia Cathedral is based on information obtained from previously conducted historical, archival and bibliographic research, as well as the historical and architectural plan of these territories. The recommendations of the scientific supervisor of the object "Historical Center of Polotsk" have been taken into account. All opinions of the Polotsk Diocese on infrastructure facilities in the area of the Spaso-Yevfrosinievsky Monastery have also been taken into account.
"The main task of the concept is to develop proposals for the preservation and restoration of the historical character of the architectural ensemble of buildings," emphasized Alexander Poznyak. "The second, no less important task, is to develop measures for the harmonious adaptation of historical buildings to the conditions and requirements of modern life." -0-
