A multifunctional sports complex was opened at VSU named after P. M. Masherov
A football stadium with artificial turf, two basketball courts and two volleyball courts, outdoor exercise equipment and workout zones, running tracks with special surfacing, lighting systems for evening activities, and an LED screen for broadcasting matches and educational videos – this modern complex will be accessible not only to the university's students and faculty.
In the near future, it is planned to host inter-university, school, city, and regional competitions here. The further goal is to make this facility a base for republican and international sports events. Additionally, city residents will also be able to spend their leisure time here, albeit only during times free from student classes and training sessions.
The solemn opening ceremony of the sports complex was attended by the Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Igor Karpenko, the Assistant to the President – Inspector for Vitebsk Region Anatoly Linevich, the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Nikolai Sherstnev, the leadership of the City Executive Committee, and the rectors of Vitebsk universities.
