Mobile FAPs will appear in small villages of the Vitebsk region this summer
May 2, Polotsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Experimental mobile paramedic and obstetric stations (FAP) will appear in the Vitebsk region in the summer of 2012, Yuri Derkach, head of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's healthcare department, told a BELTA correspondent.
The mobile FAPs will be trailer vans equipped with the necessary equipment and an autonomous heating system. In addition, after the creation of a unified patient registry for the Vitebsk region, it will be possible to access a centralized server where medical data on all residents of the region will be stored. A prototype FAP has been ordered from the Vitebsk enterprise "Grandiscar," which specializes in the production of special vehicles, including ambulances.
According to Yuri Derkach, mobile FAPs will help solve the problem of providing medical care to residents of small villages with a population of less than 100 households. It is economically impractical to maintain a stationary medical facility in such a settlement, but it is impossible to leave elderly people, who mainly live in such villages, without medical care. Medical care must be accessible, the interlocutor emphasized.
If the experiment with the creation of mobile FAPs proves successful, the healthcare department intends to extend it to all districts of the region. In addition, the department will revise the location scheme of district ambulance stations so that small villages are within a ten-kilometer radius of the stations. According to Yuri Derkach, a similar experiment was conducted in the Russian Federation, where mobile paramedic and obstetric stations proved effective. -0-
