Mobile groups in the Vitebsk region will strengthen monitoring of agricultural organizations during the sowing campaign
The State Labour Inspectorate will strengthen the monitoring of agricultural organizations in the Vitebsk region during the spring field campaign. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Sergey Anufriev, First Deputy Head of the Vitebsk Regional Department of the State Labour Inspectorate of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection.
According to him, operational mobile groups consisting of state labour inspectors, law enforcement officers, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the prosecutor's office, and representatives of other interested departments operate in the region on a permanent basis, checking compliance with labour protection requirements and standards at enterprises and organizations of various forms of ownership. During the sowing period, the mobile groups will pay the closest attention to ensuring safe working conditions in agricultural enterprises.
"This sector is among the most hazardous. For example, in 2011, 11 fatal and 29 severe injuries were recorded in the region's agro-industrial complex organizations, and in 2012, there were 2 and 19 respectively. In the first quarter of this year, compared to the same period in 2012, an alarming trend has emerged again: one death and five severe injuries of workers have been recorded," stated the First Deputy Head of the Department. He emphasized that numerous violations of labour protection rules occur in the field and during repair work in mechanical workshops.
Sergey Anufriev called on all heads of agricultural organizations to ensure strict control over employees' compliance with labor and production discipline requirements in order to prevent cases of industrial injuries and reminded them of strict liability measures for violations of Directive No. 1.
