Modernization of the Orsha Flax Mill will spur the re-equipment of the entire flax industry - V. Pavlovsky

September 23, Orsha / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The technical re-equipment of the Orsha Flax Mill will spur the technological re-equipment of the entire flax industry of Belarus. This viewpoint was expressed to a BELTA correspondent by Vasily Pavlovsky, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus. He is taking part in a meeting on the effective operation of the Orsha Flax Mill, which is being held in Orsha by Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky. A program for the technical re-equipment of all four factories that are part of the mill has been implemented at the enterprise since 2007. In 2008, large-scale work began on the installation of 258 units of new equipment and the modernization of 123 units of existing equipment. According to Vasily Pavlovsky, upon completion of the re-equipment, the Orsha Flax Mill will require high-quality flax fiber of grades 12, 13, 14, 15. To produce it, flax processing plants will need new equipment, and agricultural enterprises will need modern machinery, he explained. The modernization of the flax-growing industry has already begun. This year, about 10% of the equipment for flax cultivation has been updated. Belgian equipment is operating at two flax processing plants – Dubrovensky and Dvoretzky – which allows for the production of flax fiber of grades 12 to 15. Similar modern technological lines will be installed at 10 more flax processing plants in the country. However, along with the modernization of production, the optimization of flax processing plants is also expected. It is assumed that out of the 49 currently operating flax processing plants, 22 will remain in the future. According to Vasily Pavlovsky, such a program for the technical re-equipment of the industry will allow for the mastering of the production of high-quality flax and flax fiber necessary for the updated Orsha Flax Mill within 2-3 years. -0-
