Youth opened the Day of the Union State at the "Slavianski Bazaar"

"The Union State is US!", the youth of Belarus and Russia declared loudly today, on the Day of the Union State, which is being held at the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk arts festival. A platform for the youth movement has been launched in the central square of the festival city, BELTA correspondent reports. The Standing Committee of the Union State, together with its information partner, the publishing house "Belarusian Encyclopedia named after P. Brovka", helped youth leaders to unite and will hold a series of interesting events here throughout the day. These include the "Colors of Friendship" children's chalk drawing contest, a meeting of youth with veterans of the Great Patriotic War, and a creative meeting with writer Nikolai Cherginets, a nominee for the Union State Prize in Literature and Art for 2009-2010. The photo chronicle of the Union State "Union of Belarus and Russia - Unity of Peoples, Cultures, States", consisting of photos by photojournalists from leading news agencies of Belarus and Russia - BELTA and RIA Novosti, aroused lively interest. The exhibition tells about the life of the Union State in various aspects: significant political events, joint projects and programs in industry, defense, and the social sphere. A meeting between State Secretary of the Union State Pavel Borodin with veterans and youth took place at the youth platform. -0-
