Youth of the Vitebsk region congratulated over 1000 children during the 'Miracles for Christmas' campaign
The events of the traditional joint campaign took place in all corners of the Vitebsk region. Schoolchildren, students, and working youth participated in this kindest and most magical New Year's event. Extensive preparatory work was carried out in the pre-New Year days: the symbol of the campaign – red mittens – were carefully sewn, and a collection of stationery, toys, books, board games, and monetary funds for gifts was organized.
Approximately 60 festive children's programs were held in the region, and assistance was provided to over 1000 children, 25 large families, and 27 social institutions.
Each region tried to contribute something unique, especially bright and memorable, to the project. New Year and Christmas holidays are a time for miracles.
– In each district, these activities took place in their own way, – noted Elena Martynenkova, coordinator of the BRSM volunteer movement in the Vitebsk region.
– These included targeted fulfillment of children's wishes, game programs with the participation of Ded Moroz and Snegurochka, home visits to children, visits to orphanages, boarding schools, and hospitals. But the most important thing, which remains constant in the "Miracles for Christmas" campaign year after year, is to give the young residents of our country a piece of our warmth and festive spirit, and to fulfill their cherished wishes.
It is gratifying that kind and responsive people joined the youth charity campaign, helping to collect New Year's gifts for the children.
It is worth noting that this time, volunteers focused not only on children but also on elderly people living alone, as well as homeless animals. For example, in Vitebsk, volunteers organized a campaign to help the Vitebsk City Shelter for Homeless Animals – "To Dobrik With Kindness," in which all concerned citizens could participate in collecting food, bedding, and everything necessary for the animals.
