The youth trade union forum "Student Autumn" in Vitebsk gathered about 1.5 thousand participants
Perhaps the most striking and colorful event of the forum was the special project "University Environment," within which prospective applicants were invited to a career guidance and image exhibition of higher and secondary vocational education institutions. Educational institutions presented their own mass media, achievements at the WorldSkills professional skills championships, a wide range of specialties, as well as opportunities for additional education and development.
For example, at Polotsk State Economic College, students of the "Software for Information Technologies" specialty are successfully mastering prototyping. Alina Osipova, a college instructor, conducted a master class on volumetric modeling for the participants of "Student Autumn."
The educator explained that the college acquired a 3D printer about a year ago, and it is actively used in the educational process. Additionally, a robotics club will be organized for schoolchildren in the near future.
– We want our students to be aware of the latest technologies and current industry trends and to understand that their knowledge will be in demand in practice, – emphasized Alina Vladimirovna.
Also, as part of the forum, a seminar was held on the role of trade unions in shaping civil society with the participation of government representatives, heads of trade union organizations, and educational institutions. Furthermore, young people, depending on their field of study, visited the largest enterprises, institutions, and organizations in the region – "Belvest," "Vitebskiye Kovry," "Naftan," "Olgovskoye," Vitebsk Gymnasium No. 7, and the Regional Clinical Hospital.
According to Ivan Vozmitel, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Trade Union Association, this allowed students not only to get acquainted with their future profession but also to learn about the work of trade union organizations, preferences and guarantees for young specialists, youth councils, and their participation in the life of the team.
“First of all, the forum is aimed at popularizing the trade union movement among youth. We want to show young men and women what social guarantees they have, how trade unions can protect their interests. Today, about 98% of student and vocational youth are members of primary trade union organizations, which is more than 32,000 young and active people, thanks to whom the trade unions of the Vitebsk region work fruitfully and successfully,” said Ivan Konstantinovich.
The forum concluded with a gala concert "My University is My Small Homeland" with the participation of the best creative groups of the Vitebsk region.
