Youth water hiking trip starts in Vitebsk region on August 12

August 4, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. A water hiking trip will bring together working youth of the Vitebsk region on August 12-14, the Vitebsk Regional Committee of the BRSM informed a BELTA correspondent.

Beshenkovichi district has been chosen as the venue for the trip, and the participants' route runs along picturesque places from the village of Bocheykovo to the settlement of Ulla. In total, participants will have to cover more than 30 km along the Ulla River.

It is expected that more than 100 people will try their hand at sports tourism as part of teams representing district organizations. The participants' journey will involve not only crossing the river but also be filled with various creative and sports competitions. For example, teams will compete in slogans and greetings, singing songs and chastushkas, and knowledge of their country's history. They will also have to participate in synchronized swimming and high-speed boat maneuvering competitions.

The water hiking trip is timed to coincide with the 70th anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War and is designed to promote patriotic and ecological education of youth, form safe life skills among young people, and popularize active types of recreation.-0-
