Young doctor from Miory District Hospital: "I will focus on what concerns young people"

Молодой медик Миорской райбольницы: "Акцент буду делать на том, что волнует молодых"

Maria Severina, a doctor at the Miory District Hospital, has been delegated by the district's youth to the All-Belarusian People's Assembly. The medic says she can only compare this trust from her fellow citizens to a doctor's responsibility for the health and life of a patient.

– I will focus on what concerns young people: the opportunity to realize themselves in their profession and public life, – Marina said.

Her career is developing excellently. After graduating from the Vitebsk Medical University, she was assigned to her small homeland. The district executive committee provided the young obstetrician-gynecologist with rental housing. She has also established good relationships with colleagues and patients.

Maria Severina completed her internship at the "Mother and Child" center in Minsk. Elena Sivaya, the chief physician of the Miory Central District Hospital, supported the girl's desire for development and sent her to courses. As a result, Marina became a practicing obstetrician-gynecologist.

– Six medical university graduates came to our hospital in the same year as Maria, – noted Elena Sivaya. – All of them have established themselves in their profession. However, I singled out Maria from their group. She saw patients from her district and traveled to Glubokoye for several days where there was no obstetrician-gynecologist. The patients were satisfied.

The head physician noted her responsibility and desire to improve in her work by promoting the doctor to the position of deputy head physician for medical affairs. It took Maria Severina two and a half years to prove herself and reach a certain level.

– I was afraid that doctors with solid experience would not accept me as a leader, – shared the deputy head physician. – Time has shown that I was worried in vain. Both experienced and young colleagues support me, and together we strive to improve the accessibility and quality of medical care.

The young medic has actively integrated into the life of the district. Maria is the winner of the "Superprofi" competition-show in the district and a prize-winner of the regional stage. As a leader of the youth, she was entrusted with voting at the All-Belarusian People's Assembly for a youth program for the benefit of her small homeland and the country.
