Young developers of the website about Vitebsk during the Great Patriotic War received the city council award
December 15, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Young developers of a website about Vitebsk during the Great Patriotic War received the Vitebsk City Council award. Along with them, 12 more young workers, engineers, scientists, students, and the creative team of the "Display" design bureau became laureates of the annual award, the Department of Ideological Work of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent.
Sergey Beregeiko, a cycling coach at the "Victoria" Olympic Reserve Youth Sports School, and Alexey Marshinsky, a worker at the "Elekt" enterprise of the "Belarusian Association of the Visually Impaired" public association, developed and created the website "Victory - Vitebsk. Vitebsk during the Great Patriotic War". The website is based on numerous archival and documentary photographs, and information from statistical and encyclopedic publications. The developers dedicated it to the memory of those who died defending and liberating the city, and those who could not survive the terrible years of the war.
Among the awardees is Pavel Lysykh, a senior foreman at the Vitebsk branch of Belarusian Railways locomotive depot, who developed and implemented 18 rationalization proposals with an economic effect of over Br49 million. Irina Thoreva, an assistant at the Department of Vitebsk State Technological University, also received the City Council award for the development and implementation of a knitted pouch to support the heart ventricle. This invention has successfully passed clinical trials and is used in cardiology. The scientist's work was presented at the end of November at a youth innovation forum in Minsk.
The annual Vitebsk City Council award for the best young workers, pupils, and students of Vitebsk was established in 2007. It is awarded in five nominations. As noted by Alexander Sidorenko, Head of the Department for Defense and Mobilization Work and Youth Affairs of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, the number of award nominees is growing every year, and it is becoming more difficult to choose laureates. This award is not only a recognition of the merits of talented young people but also an incentive for their further professional growth. "State youth policy is structured to help young people realize their potential. The priority areas of the country, defined by the IV All-Belarusian People's Congress, such as the development of human potential, the creation of new high-tech industries, and the stimulation of business initiative, confirm that the state will continue to do everything possible to ensure that young people in Belarus can find application for their abilities and talents," the department is convinced. -0-
