New production facilities will give a powerful impetus to the development of the Orsha district - Nikolai Sherstnev

New production facilities will give a powerful impetus to the development of the Orsha district, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Nikolai Sherstnev noted in a conversation with a BELTA correspondent.

The head of the region noted that Orsha and the Orsha district face the task of doubling production volumes. "In order to double the indicators, time is needed," said the governor. "We need to build new production facilities, both in industry and in agriculture. The main projects to be implemented in the Orsha district have already been identified. It is they that should give the main impetus to development."

Nikolai Sherstnev emphasized that the projects in the agro-industrial complex have already been worked out in detail. "We will build a farm for 1.2 thousand head of dairy herd in 'Ustye', a new dairy farm for the same number of livestock will appear in 'Teplichnoye'. Farms for 2 thousand head of dairy herd will be built in 'Yubileynoye', in the village of Churilovo. We will complete the reconstruction of the dairy farm in 'Larinovka'," the head of the region shared his plans. He also announced that a large-scale modernization awaits the 'Zadneprovsky' pig complex - the update will be associated with the construction of a pig breeder. The construction of new complexes requires the development of processing enterprises. And these issues are being worked out comprehensively. "The Orsha dairy plant will be modernized, and the construction of a new slaughterhouse at the meat canning plant is planned," said Nikolai Sherstnev.

He noted that final decisions have already been made on the listed projects, funding sources have been identified, and the stage of implementing all plans is now beginning. "This is daily painstaking work that requires great attention," the governor emphasized. Nikolai Sherstnev added that the development of Orsha and the Orsha district is currently under the close attention of the republican and regional authorities. Active work is also being carried out by the leadership of the district executive committee. "The situation is improving. Perhaps not as quickly as we would like, but current issues are being resolved in industry, in the social sphere, and in agriculture.

“Teams, specialists and managers on the ground are working to reduce costs and increase efficiency,” he stated.
