Muscovites ask to increase the number of Belarusian product fairs

September 14, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Residents of the Savelovsky district of the Northern Administrative Okrug (SAO) of Moscow are asking their administration to increase the number of weekend fairs with the participation of Belarusian enterprises. This became known after the next fair, which was held in early September by Vitebsk enterprises in the Savelovsky district, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Economy Committee told a BELTA correspondent. Enterprises of the Pridvinye region, in accordance with the cooperation agreement between the Vitebsk region and the SAO, have been organizing mobile trade in Moscow since 2004. As a rule, fairs are held once a quarter. They feature products from enterprises of the food industry, consumer cooperation, and light industry. The demand for Belarusian goods is huge. For example, during the last mobile trade alone, about 30 enterprises of the region sold their products for a total of almost 5 million Russian rubles. Specialists from the committee noted that Muscovites are attracted not only by the real price of Belarusian goods but also by their quality. As buyers were able to see for themselves, food products from Belarus are environmentally friendly and made from natural ingredients. In this regard, requests from residents to organize Belarusian fairs once a month have increasingly begun to come to the administration. Since the beginning of the current year, enterprises of the region have held five fairs in various districts of the SAO. The average revenue at each fair was 4-5 million Russian rubles. In addition to Moscow, Vitebsk manufacturers participate in mobile trade in St. Petersburg. In March of this year, 28 enterprises of the region sold their products for 4 million Russian rubles. At the end of September, more than 20 manufacturers will again go to the city on the Neva to participate in the "Autumn Gifts" fair. -0-
