A multimedia transport and logistics center is planned to be created in Orsha

November 13, Minsk / Olga Belyavskaya - BELTA /. An international multimedia transport and logistics center is planned to be created in Orsha. This was announced today at the project presentation during the Belarusian Investment and Economic Forum by the Director of the Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant Vladimir Troitsky, BELTA correspondent reports. The investment project is estimated at $11.6 million. The new facility will be created on the basis of the "Orsha" airfield, which can currently accommodate aircraft of all types, including the An-124. The head of the enterprise noted that the new transport and logistics center will have a very advantageous location - railway lines are nearby, and international transport corridors No. 2 and No. 9 pass through it. The territory development project includes the construction of warehouses, a parking lot, a hotel, and a restaurant. For the placement of offices, a bank branch, a maintenance service, an insurance company, a cafe, and a hotel, the construction of a modern business center is also planned. "The presence of an airfield capable of accommodating all types of aircraft will allow attracting a part of the international transport flows of the China-Europe and India-Europe routes to the territory of the created center, which are currently mainly routed through Moscow," emphasized Vladimir Troitsky. The new center in Orsha will be able to provide its clients with a full range of transport and logistics services at prices much lower than those of Moscow airports. The implementation of the project will significantly increase transit traffic through Belarus and generate additional income related to the acceptance and servicing of cargo and vehicles. It is planned that the sources of financing for the construction of the new center will include both the own funds of the Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant and attracted investments. "We hope to find investors in the near future to implement these plans; for now, the project is under development," said Vladimir Troitsky. -0-
