The 'Flowers of Great Victory' museum bus is embarking on an expedition to the battlefields of the Vitebsk region

The "Flowers of the Great Victory" museum-bus will travel through the combat zones of the Polotsk-Lepel partisan area, as reported by the Central Committee of the Belarusian Youth Union (BRSM).

The museum-bus expedition departed from Minsk on June 29. The first to see its exhibition will be the participants of the Minsk Regional Festival of Youth Initiatives "Youth Day on Selevye" (Krupki District, Kolodnitsa village), and the youth sports rally "Vasilkovy Venok-2018" of the BRSM activists of the Minsk region. In the evening, it will be welcomed in Chashniki (Vitebsk region). On June 30, the journey through the cities of the country's northernmost region will continue. Residents and guests of Lepel, Glubokoye, Sharkovshchina, and the urban-type settlement of Vidzy will be able to visit the unusual museum.

On July 1, from 10:00 AM, the museum-bus will be parked at the Mound of Friendship in the Verkhnedvinsk district, where it will be an integral part of the 59th meeting of veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the partisan movement of Belarus, Russia, and Latvia. Admission to the museum is traditionally free, and the exhibition of the mobile display is constantly changing and updated with new exhibits, including local rarities. This time, the historical and cultural complex "Line of Defense," the Museum of the Komsomol and Youth Movement of Belarus, and the historical and local lore museum "Inexhaustible Source of History" of Gymnasium No. 25 of Minsk city helped to prepare it. The interactive exhibition is presented in three conditional halls. The first hall contains exhibits testifying to the heroism of the Belarusian people and the history of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders. These include original artifacts from the war, mock-ups and models of weapons, elements of equipment, ammunition, and military uniforms, items of military life, and documents. The second hall is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Komsomol. It allows visitors to learn about the history of the youth movement in Belarus. Among the exhibits are Komsomol membership cards, badges, photographs, documents, and newspaper materials from various historical periods, telling about the activities of Komsomol members, and much more. Here, visitors can also try on the ceremonial pioneer and Komsomol uniforms of Soviet schoolchildren.

It is symbolic that in the Year of Small Motherland,

The third hall of the interactive museum displays Belarusian household items and tools. From an unusual journey, the museum-bus will bring cranes to Minsk. They will be made by young people from straw with their own hands and handed over to the Museum of the Komsomol and Youth Movement of Belarus for the creation of a commemorative exhibition. Where the symbols of peace come from can be determined by the coat of arms of the city where the patriotic expedition took place.

The joint project of the BRSM, FPB, and the Belarusian Public Association of Veterans started on May 7 this year in Minsk. It is being implemented within the framework of a trilateral cooperation agreement and is aimed at consolidating efforts in fostering national and civic consciousness among youth, preserving the continuity of generations, and the historical truth about the Great Patriotic War.
