Mobile museum and 3D printer for roads: Vitebsk region presented its "100 Ideas for Belarus"
An exhibition-presentation of the best regional projects of the republican competition "100 Ideas for Belarus" is taking place today at the main department of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus for the Vitebsk region.
As explained by the acting first secretary of the regional committee of the BRSM, Viktor Glushin, this year about 50 applications with various initiatives were received from the youth of the region: from social projects to rationalization ideas and production innovations. "Today we are presenting the 15 best projects, their authors are mainly students, but there are also schoolchildren and working youth," the interlocutor noted. "All initiatives are useful, some are already being implemented. And those that need help for implementation will be able to interest potential investors: representatives of the city's businesses are present at the meeting. The projects selected by the expert jury will represent our region at the republican exhibition in early 2016."
This year, the regional exhibition features a great variety of topics and fields of application for youth ideas. For example, Valentina Dybal, a postgraduate student at VSU named after P. Masherov, is presenting an experimental elective course "Physics in Biology." Evgeny Boginov from Dubrovno is demonstrating a device for monitoring water content in fuel. Artem Ovchinnikov, an eighth-grader from Vitebsk Secondary School No. 35, is presenting an autonomous mobile and energy-efficient device for heating food. The project "Modern Technologies in Road Construction" using a 3D printer, presented by Nikita Averchenko from Polotsk State University, is attracting a lot of attention.
The most large-scale and costumed presentation is by the project "Museum Carriage of the Wheels of Time" from the Vitebsk region. Two buses from Vymnyanskaya and Suikovskaya secondary schools house exhibitions on the Great Patriotic War from the collections of the school museum and the folk museum of Zaronye region's history. As Lyudmila Nikitina, the head of the latter museum, explained, the buses have been running around the district since April 2015, having visited 20 settlements. About a thousand people were able to attend thematic excursions: "The Story of a Soldier's Spoon," "On a Break," "A Family at War," "Heroes of Vymnyanskaya Land," and others. They not only saw but also touched the exhibits, and were able to try on military uniforms and clothing from the Great Patriotic War era. Additionally, at its stops, the "carriage" shows a film about how the district's youth preserve the memory of the feat of the people and liberators. Schoolchildren also give small performances, and each such visit becomes a real event, especially in sparsely populated villages. "At the request of the residents, we decided to make the project indefinite and simply change the exhibitions. We are currently collecting materials dedicated to our famous ethnographer and folklorist Nikolai Nikiforovsky, and the ancient Tadulin Holy Assumption Monastery," added Lyudmila Nikitina.
A foresight discussion "Youth. Financial Literacy. Business" is also planned at the exhibition-presentation, where participants will discuss issues relevant to young innovators.
"100 Ideas for Belarus" is a republican youth competition organized by BRSM, whose main objective is to activate the innovative activity and professional mobility of youth, and to create and promote innovative projects and promising scientific and technical developments.
