The Ilya Repin Museum-Estate "Zdravnevo" has prepared a program of events for the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" festival

Музей-усадьба Ильи Репина «Здравнёво» подготовил программу мероприятий на время фестиваля "Славянский базар в Витебске"
One of the attractions on the map of the current "Slavyansky Bazaar" festival is the Ilya Repin Museum-Estate "Zdravnevo". In the first festival days, two exhibitions opened here, a theatrical excursion for the Ministers of Culture of the SCO member states will be held, and several evening performances of the Yanka Kupala National Academic Theatre will take place, telling about the last days of the artist's stay at his summer dacha near Vitebsk.

To "Zdravnevo" from Yasnaya Polyana

The exhibition from the funds of the State Museum of the famous writer in Moscow tells about the creative and friendly ties between Ilya Repin and Leo Tolstoy's eldest daughter, Tatiana. The exhibition is timed to coincide with two round dates celebrated this year – the 180th anniversary of Ilya Repin's birth and the 160th anniversary of the artist, memoirist, and follower of her great father – Tatiana Sukhhotina-Tolstaya.

The halls of the estate house feature works by two authors on similar subjects. Ilya Repin's letters to the young artist are displayed in showcases, many of which were sent from Zdravnevo.

For decades, a dialogue continued between the eminent artist and the great writer's daughter, who considered Repin her main teacher, heeded his advice, and trusted his assessments. Congratulating Tatiana on her name day, Ilya Efimovich wrote: "Please accept my best wishes condescendingly... One of them is – do not abandon painting."

Tatiana Lvovna left a whole gallery of portraits of her father, members of the Tolstoy family, and many valuable paintings depicting everyday life in Yasnaya Polyana. Visitors to the exhibition, which will be open until the end of September, will have a rare opportunity to see these works alongside the masterpieces of the recognized master.

Bravo, "Florissima"!

“Kremlins and Shrines. Russia, Belarus, Armenia” is the title of the exhibition prepared by the International Creative Association of Phytocollagists and Artists “Florissima”. As its head, Inna Makeeva, said, all works are made using author’s techniques: batik, wool watercolor, floral collage, oil painting, marquetry. There are paintings “created” with flour and salt.

– The aim of the exhibition is to awaken the interest of viewers, young and old, in the country’s history, its shrines, to show the beauty of the Motherland, both great and small. Perhaps, to discover something new, – said Inna Makeeva.

“Florissima” is a long-time friend of the Vitebsk Regional Museum, and has been bringing its exhibitions to the festival for over ten years.
