"We are not hiding anything." The President explained the motives for submitting the National Security Concept for public discussion

The concept of national security was put up for public discussion so that the people would know what risks, challenges, and threats exist, which must be jointly countered. This was stated by the President of Belarus, Chairman of the Supreme State Council Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting of the VII All-Belarusian People's Congress.

"When this issue arose, there were proposals on how we would discuss it. We discussed these problems in a closed session at the Security Council. Even more broadly. There were disputes about whether we should bring all this up for public discussion. Then the decision was made: "What do we have to fear? After all, the main task is to resist, if necessary. And how will the people resist if they do not know in advance what they will be resisting," said the Belarusian leader.
