The International Mythology Festival «Dragon's Path» will be held for the first time in Lepel region

In the Lepel region, it was decided to combine two festivals dedicated to Slavic myths and legends into one large-scale event.

“U hosci da Lepelskaі Цmoka” (Visiting the Lepel Dragon) and “Myths in the Swamp” have been transformed into the International Mythology Festival “Shliakh Цmoka” (The Dragon's Path), which will be held on September 21-22 in the Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve.

According to Diana Prokoshina, the tourism manager of the environmental institution, the idea of combining aims to organize a more massive and spectacular event with an expanded program and a larger number of participants. This year, “Shliakh Цmoka” has attracted not only Belarusians but also representatives from Russia and Poland.

The festival guests can expect a theatrical performance “The Legend of the Dragon,” performances by musical groups, and a master class in Belarusian dance with characters from Slavic mythology. Students from the Domzheritsy school will appear as characters from Belarusian mythology. By the way, anyone can join this parade if they come to the festival in thematic costumes.

The evening program includes performances by musical groups, a fire show, a visit to the Museum of Mythology, and a one-and-a-half-hour interactive night walk along the path of myths.

For the readers of “VV,” Diana Prokoshina revealed one of the surprises of the event. The Belarusian musical group “NagUal,” which participated in the famous show “X-Factor,” will perform at the festival. Their repertoire includes songs not only in Russian and Belarusian but also compositions in a phonemic dialect invented by the band's leader, Leonid Pavlyonok.

During the festival, various thematic areas, play zones for children, food courts, and exhibitions will be open. Memorable prizes and diplomas from sponsors and partners of the celebration await the most active participants.

Diana Prokoshina noted that guests of the festival who plan to attend the entire two-day program can comfortably stay in the reserve's hotel complexes or in a tent city on specially equipped territory. Transportation for guests from Lepel will be organized.
