Diving will be taught at Lake Ryche in the Braslav district

На озере Ричи в Браславском районе будут учить дайвингу
Lake Richi in the Braslav district will become a diving training site, as reported by Yevgeny Labut, director of the Braslav-Richi enterprise.

The state environmental institution, located within the Richi republican landscape заказник (nature reserve) on the shore of the lake of the same name, has begun cooperation with the Deep Trip diving club.

"Club instructors visited us last week and explored the lake. They concluded that the conditions here are ideal for training: water transparency is 4-5 meters, the bottom is sandy, and there are gentle entries with long stretches of shallow depths. Most importantly, the places are beautiful and the fauna is rich. Learning to dive in natural conditions is much more interesting than in a swimming pool," explained Yevgeny Labut.

Lake Richi is the second deepest lake in Belarus (maximum depth 51.9 meters). It preserves relics of the glacial period, which are included in the Red Book of Belarus, and its water is very clear.

"Many bodies of water in the country are suitable for diving. But there are fewer options for trial dives. For those who wish to explore the world of diving and those who are training with us under the PADI system (five sessions in a pool and then four in open water), we offer Lake Rudakovo (Myadel group), Lake Voloso (Braslav group), and now Lake Richi," the diving club reported.

Lake Richi is also convenient because there are five equipped tourist campsites near the reservoir.

The fact that the lake is located in the border area with Latvia does not pose an obstacle either. Yevgeny Labut assured that the administration of the Braslav-Richi enterprise assists in promptly obtaining permits for the border zone.
