At the first meeting of the regional commission for the election of the President of Belarus, the chairman, his deputy, and the secretary were elected
Opening the event, the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, Vladimir Terentyev, presented official certificates to the members of the election commission, after which they proceeded to elect the leadership. On the proposal of Natalia Lepeshkina, Dmitry Khoma was elected chairman of the regional territorial commission. In recent years, he has repeatedly participated in electoral marathons; the current election campaign will be his sixth. Vyacheslav Khrol became the deputy chairman, and Svetlana Ilyushchenko became the secretary.
In addition, current issues of financing territorial commissions were resolved at the meeting. A duty roster for members of the regional election commission has been compiled, which will begin operating daily (except Sundays) from May 22.
For the current campaign, the regional commission has moved to a new office at: Vitebsk, Gogol Street, 17. As Dmitry Khoma noted, after the 2019 parliamentary elections, appeals and questions from citizens and observers were summarized, some of which concerned the locations of the regional and lower-level election commissions and touched upon the issue of organizing an accessible environment in them. Taking into account the voters' wishes, the regional election commission is now located on the 1st floor of the administrative building, where the necessary conditions for persons with disabilities have been created. Similar recommendations have been sent to the bodies forming the lower-level commissions, including precinct commissions.
