At the end of the agricultural year, the results of seasonal work are traditionally summarized, and work is planned for the future. Somewhere in the fields, the remnants of corn are still being harvested, but the main technical forces are focused on plowing winter fallow. Livestock breeders are trying to feed the cows so as not to lose milk and meat production volumes during the transition period to winter stall housing of livestock. At the machine yards, combines are being cleaned to put them into winter storage in perfect order. Grain processing plants have already begun shipping grain for export.

- The funds received from the sale of grain are important to concentrate for solving strategic tasks of further enterprise development, - emphasized the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev. – Today, in the agricultural sector, it is necessary to determine the sources of financing for construction and reconstruction facilities – dairy farms, rabbit farms, pig complexes, and the technical re-equipment of processing enterprises. The search for investors for these facilities is the most important part of the minimum program for the region's agrarians. Private investment is not excluded either.

The second point that the chairman emphasized is the pace of work on creating integrated structures.

- Slowly. Business plans are being written for two months. This is too long. There is no proper interaction between enterprises within the integration structures themselves and the head office, - noted Nikolai Nikolaevich. - Activity analysis shows certain shortcomings in personnel policy.

A serious issue was raised regarding the work of industry. OJSC "Keramika", "Vitebsk", "Znamya Industrializatsii" can work much more effectively. Some enterprises are capable of doubling their production volumes and entering export markets in new regions. It is characteristic that warehouse stocks have decreased for many. In the very near future, a meeting will be held with the participation of the real sector of the region's economy, and specific tasks will be set for the heads of state-owned enterprises. According to the First Deputy Chairman Gennady Grebnev, now, taking into account the dynamics of currency exchange rates, it is necessary to intensify product exports, including meat and dairy products.
