A Spartakiad for employees of the region's state administration bodies was held in Shumilino district
Last weekend, the Spartakiad of employees of state administration bodies of our region was held in Shumilino, at the Druzhba children's health resort of UP Vitebskoblgaz.
27 teams representing all district executive committees, city administrations, and, of course, the regional executive committee participated in the event (which took place in a beautiful spot on the shore of Lake Budovest). It was a kind of top-level meeting, not just without ties, but also in tracksuits. It turned out that civil servants are no different from ordinary people in communication, sense of humor, or mobility.
The guests were welcomed by the hospitable hosts. Creative teams of gas workers boosted the mood and fighting spirit of the participants with their dances and songs. The Spartakiad torch was lit by Igor Kanygin, a silver medalist of the Moscow Olympics in Greco-Roman wrestling.
While reviewing the teams' parade, the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, emphasized that the words of the anthem song "you need to live brightly in sports, win honestly" should be projected onto everyday life. The head of the region noted that the attendees have proven this year through their work that they are worthy of good performance. And the basis of victories always lies in willpower, firmness, and character. In addition, this event is a great opportunity to unite more closely through sports competition, and simply to communicate in an informal setting and share impressions.
The kettlebell lifting competition generated great interest among spectators. With approving laughter from colleagues, someone suggested that if the head of the district himself approached the kettlebell, his result should be multiplied by 4. However, the head of the region did not need any handicap. To the general chant of "Mo-lo-dets!" (Well done!), Nikolay Nikolayevich lifted a two-pood kettlebell over his head 75 times in two minutes, outperforming younger competitors.
As a result, supporting the leader's initiative, the team of the regional executive committee won a deserved victory in the team championship. The top three prize-winners also included the Novopolotsk City Executive Committee and the team from the administration of the Oktyabrsky District of Vitebsk.
While the event was still fresh, we asked the direct participants of the celebration to share their impressions.
Viktor Gutorov, Chairman of the Postavy District Executive Committee:
– The feelings are the most pleasant. It's such a celebration after a good completion of the grain harvest! As for active recreation, a lot depends on us, officials. We need to create the most comfortable conditions for the development of mass sports. Build playgrounds and swimming pools, which is what we are doing in our area. And, of course, personal example is essential.
Anatoly Lukashov, Chairman of the Dubrovno District Executive Committee:
– Sport is well-being and health. Therefore, victories in production, culture, and sports are equally important. We always welcome this and hold competitions. Unfortunately, my responsible position rarely allows me to engage in physical culture, but at the sports festival, I participated in shooting, tug-of-war, and volleyball.
Igor Kanygin, Director of the Regional Center for Martial Arts:
– A very necessary event. I feel like I've stepped into "Obvious - Incredible." It's hard to believe that so many top-level managers decided to change into sports uniforms. And the place in the final standings here, of course, is not the most important thing.
It is gratifying that the recent competitions have marked the beginning of another good tradition. After all, as the head of the region stated at the celebration, the sports games are intended to become regular.
