A "round table" will be held at "Slavianski Bazaar 2015"
Last Saturday, a meeting of the organizing committee of the XXIV International Festival of Arts was held in the regional center under the chairmanship of Belarusian Vice-Premier Natalia Kochanova.
According to festival director Alexander Sidorenko, the city is ready to host the grand cultural forum as early as tomorrow. Before the meeting of the organizing committee, Natalia Kochanova, together with Belarusian Minister of Culture Boris Svetlov and Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee Viktor Nikolaikin, inspected the main venues, in particular, the Summer Amphitheater (pictured), and outdoor areas where festival projects will take place.
– This is my first time chairing the organizing committee of the "Slavianski Bazaar". The people involved in the preparation of this significant event for our country for many years are quite experienced. Over the past years, a concept for the festival has been developed. I believe that the established traditions should be preserved. There will also be innovations. Everything is aimed at ensuring that the celebration is held with dignity and is interesting for both the residents of Belarus and numerous guests, – noted the Deputy Prime Minister.
One of the new features was announced by the Minister of Information, Lilia Ananich. For the first time within the festival, a "round table" will be held on the topic "Culture and Art as a Source of Development of Spiritual and Moral Values. The Role of Media in Shaping the Common Cultural Space of Slavic Peoples". Its goal is to broaden foreign journalists' understanding of Belarus and the processes occurring in the sphere of national culture. Such a meeting should give an impetus for foreign media to become interested in other domestic cultural projects.
– Not every country pays such systematic and focused attention to the development of culture. We should be proud of this and talk about it in every way possible, – noted Lilia Ananich.
The "round table" will be attended by famous cultural and art figures of Belarus. "Slavianski Bazaar", as the minister emphasized, is a project that unites countries and peoples, serving as a bridge of friendship and cooperation. The list of accredited journalists, which expands year after year, indicates that the festival is interesting, relevant, and provides a wonderful informational occasion. Lilia Ananich also mentioned that this year the award for journalists "Golden Pen" will be revived, and it will be presented for the best coverage of the forum.
The name of the artist whose star will appear on the Alley of Laureates of the special prize of the President of Belarus "Through Art to Peace and Mutual Understanding" has also been announced. This is the chairman of the current jury of the international competition of pop singers, the famous singer and composer, People's Artist of Azerbaijan Polad Bulbul oglu. The day before, at a press conference in Moscow, he said that he considers it a great honor to lead the judging team of such a large-scale creative competition, and expressed confidence that the festival will be held at a high level and will discover new stars.
