2 world records in kettlebell lifting were set at "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk"

На «Славянском базаре в Витебске» установлено 2 мировых рекорда по гиревому спорту

During Youth Day at "Slavyansky Bazaar in Vitebsk", strongman Yevgeny Nazarevich from Grodno lifted a 50-kilogram kettlebell 75 times in honor of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus.

The Belarusian Federation of Kettlebell Lifting and Power Juggling held exhibition performances of its athletes at "Slavyansky Bazaar". 7 athletes demonstrated their mastery of this equipment. Amateurs of different ages took to the platform. The most striking performance was by Yevgeny Nazarevich, a strongman from Grodno, who lifted a 50-kilogram kettlebell 75 times in honor of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.

The kettlebell lifting performances were watched by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, the Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, Viktor Nikolaikin, and other representatives of the local authorities. The head of the region also awarded the winners of the Belarusian Skateboarding Championship, which took place at the recently opened venue near the Summer Amphitheater, and even performed a muscle-up on the horizontal bar, where street workout enthusiasts demonstrated their skills.

-- I am impressed by how both older and younger athletes work with the kettlebell. Despite the scorching sun, they lift the weight 100-200 times. Nearby, amateurs of street workout and skateboarding are performing; these sports are attractive to young people. Skateboarding is already included in the Olympic Games program, and since Vitebsk residents have reached the podium at the national competitions, we need to create conditions for practicing them. Every year, sports halls, playgrounds, and sports and recreation complexes are opened in the Vitebsk region, and we will continue this work, as well as instill a love for sports in the region's residents, -- noted Nikolai Sherstnev. -- I had no doubt that Yevgeny Nazarevich would set a record in the kettlebell competition, knowing his character.

Yevgeny Nazarevich told reporters that he wants to glorify his homeland with his sporting achievements, demonstrating that Belarusians are a kind and strong people.

-- I have been working towards this record throughout my career; you can't perform like this spontaneously. I am grateful to my coach, Anatoly Yezhov. By the way, I received the 50-kilogram kettlebell from a master from Kherson on the eve of Independence Day, -- said E. Nazarevich.
