Grain harvesting has begun in the Vitebsk region

Agricultural producers of the Vitebsk region have started selective harvesting of grain crops, as reported by the Committee for Agriculture and Food of the Regional Executive Committee.

The harvest in the region was first started by the grain growers of the Orsha and Chashniki districts. Within the next two to three days, all districts of the region will join the harvesting campaign. "The first threshed hectares have shown that we can expect a harvest similar to last year's," the committee noted. In total, the region's agricultural producers will have to thresh 390 thousand hectares of grain this season.

Farms in the region are gradually joining the harvesting of winter rapeseed – work is underway in five districts, and almost all flax processing plants have begun pulling flax.
