The Belarusian-Lithuanian Economic Forum will be held on June 7-8 in the regional center and Orsha.

Lithuanian business shows interest in cooperation with Vitebsk partners in the fields of woodworking, furniture production, agriculture, and dolomite mining.

These and other topics of possible cooperation are planned to be discussed during the XIV Belarusian-Lithuanian Economic Forum. Such events are held annually alternately in Belarus and Lithuania with the aim of developing and increasing the effectiveness of interaction between the two countries in various areas, strengthening and searching for new business contacts between industry associations and companies, expanding interregional cooperation, as well as presenting the economic potential of leading manufacturing enterprises. This time, Vitebsk region will become the venue for its holding.

As reported in the forum's organizing committee, the Lithuanian delegation will include representatives of the management of state administration bodies, the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in the Republic of Belarus, business associations, and enterprises from several sectors. More than 100 Lithuanian entrepreneurs and about 20 heads of local self-government bodies of Lithuania have confirmed their participation in the business event.

The forum will be opened by a plenary session with the participation of representatives of the governments of the two countries, the diplomatic corps, and the leadership of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. Then, its work will be organized by sections: "Cooperation in the Light Industry", "Interregional Cooperation", and a contact and cooperation exchange is also planned.

The second day of the forum will be dedicated to familiarization with the regional features of the development of cities and districts of the Vitebsk region, and visits to local enterprises in the light industry, woodworking, agriculture, and a number of other sectors.

On the eve of the forum, a delegation of Lithuanian businessmen held preliminary negotiations with the participation of the leadership of the regional executive committee and a number of Vitebsk region companies, and discussed the possibilities of implementing and developing investment projects in various sectors in the region.

In addition, the delegation from Lithuania learned about the nuances and advantages of doing business in the Vitebsk region at the recently held VII International Economic Forum in Vitebsk. It is possible that the agreements reached will move into a practical plane at the XIV Belarusian-Lithuanian Economic Forum.
