In the Vitebsk region, early voting will be possible at 729 polling stations from August 4 to 8
According to the Central Election Commission, there are a total of 849,472 voters in the Vitebsk region. During the early voting period, polling stations will be open from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00. Separate ballot boxes are used for this purpose, and it is only possible to vote early in the premises of the polling station. Voters can already clarify the information included in the voting lists at the polling stations. Students are included in the lists according to their permanent place of residence. This rule does not apply to those who work in student teams and live in dormitories.
Upon receiving a ballot, a citizen signs the voter list and indicates the date of early voting. A ballot is issued upon presentation of a passport, as well as a military ID (for conscripts), a state body employee's service ID, a driver's license, a pension certificate, or a disability certificate (if it contains a photograph), a student ID, or a certificate from the internal affairs body confirming the citizen's identity (in case of loss or theft of a passport).
The first groups of long-term observers from the CIS for the Presidential elections have already begun their work in the regions. According to the head of the mission's headquarters, Viktor Guminsky, due to the epidemiological situation, observers are starting their monitoring from the campaign period. They will study the readiness of polling stations and election commissions, and will observe during early voting and on the main election day.
