A regional patchwork competition will be held in the Vitebsk region
A creative competition for masters and craftswomen, adherents of folk art traditions in decorative and applied arts, is held in the form of a biennial. This year's theme is "Autumn Colors".
Dozens of well-known folk masters, folk clubs, and creative teams working in the patchwork technique, as well as students and participants of the Center for Crafts and National Cultures of the city of Polotsk, and the Polotsk folk patchwork club "Roshva" will gather for the competition.
They will showcase their talent in four nominations: "Patchwork Plasticity", "Patchwork Sewing", "Costume and Accessories", and "Art Quilt". During the first stage of the competition, which will run from September 3 to October 1, an exhibition of creative works will be organized. The second stage starts on September 20, opening with the grand festival-competition "Zdravnevskaya Palitra-2013". The epicenter of events on this day will be the Museum-Estate of I.E. Repin, where guests and participants will be treated to a theatrical performance, an excursion, a presentation of Belarusian national cuisine clubs, an introduction to the exhibition, a concert, and a solemn award ceremony for the competition winners.
