In the Vitebsk region, grass has been mowed on more than 63% of the planned areas

According to the regional agricultural sales department, as of yesterday, farms in the Vitebsk region have mowed grass on 63.4% of the planned areas. 5.16 centners of feed units per conventional head of cattle have been prepared (+3.02 compared to last year). Dubrovno district is in the lead with 7.11 centners of feed units, and nine other districts have indicators above the regional average.

Today's leader in the regional competition for fodder harvesting, Alexander Komarovsky (pictured), from PC "Olgovskoye" of the Vitebsk district, has been among the best combine operators for many years.

He works on his "Jaguar" almost all summer: after the first mowing, the second soon follows, during the grain harvest, straw needs to be chopped, and then corn ripens. In winter and spring, the tractor driver uses an MTZ-1523 to haul organic matter to the fields, plow, and cultivate the soil.

Alexander has been working at the agricultural enterprise since August 2005, and before that, he worked as a driver in one of the farms in the Gorodok district. Responsibility, diligence, ingenuity, and a farmer's knack are the distinguishing features of the tractor driver, who was once a prize-winner at the republican "Dazhynki" festival.

Currently, Alexander Komarovsky, along with his colleagues, is harvesting grass in the fields of the "Babiniči" department. According to Sergey Zhavoronkov, the manager of the "Olgovskoye" PC subdivision, up to 18 units of equipment are involved in fodder harvesting, and a team of tractor drivers has arrived from SHP "MazolovoGaz" UP "Vitebskoblgaz" to speed up the process. Participants in this important agricultural campaign are provided with two meals a day.
