More than 30 works are vying for the title of Vitebsk's anthem

January 24, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. More than 30 works are vying for the title of the Vitebsk anthem, the Culture Department of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. Authors and author collectives from Vitebsk, Verkhnedvinsk, and Liozno district sent their works to the competition. Residents of the regional center showed high interest in the competition: they submitted more than half of all works. At the same time, the age of the participants is quite broad - from students to elderly people. It is also noteworthy that many authors are trying their hand for the second time, as in the first round of the competition, none of the submitted works could win the undivided sympathy of the jury members. The jury will evaluate the originality, artistic and spiritual value of all submitted works in the near future. The results of the competition will be announced at the end of February. According to the competition terms, participants must create a memorable, patriotic, solemn work that reflects the individuality and historical and cultural value of Vitebsk. A text in the Belarusian language, music, or a finished anthem (text and sheet music) can be submitted to the jury for consideration. The Vitebsk City Executive Committee is the organizer of the competition. -0-
