The foundation for creating a "village of the future" in the Vitebsk region has been laid, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Nikolai Sherstnev told reporters during a visit to the agro-town of Mazolovo, Vitebsk district.

"A serious start has been made in the agro-town of Mazolovo to create a 'village of the future'. At the local agricultural enterprise 'MazolovoGaz', almost all modern rural technologies have been implemented. The enterprise's management has taken on the social sphere. Today, we have a smart greenhouse and a smart home, controlled by a computer, not on an industrial basis, but for the population. A shopping center with a cafe and a shop has appeared, along with other necessary services for the population. The foundation has been laid here; all that remains is to refine what has been done annually and build something more. There is already a queue of people wishing to be employed at 'MazolovoGaz', and young people are drawn here. I am confident that the children born and educated in the agro-town will stay here to work," said Nikolai Sherstnev.

Today, in honor of the November 7th holiday, the agro-complex "MazolovoGaz" and a shopping center with a shop and cafe were opened in the settlement. The ceremony was attended by the President's Aide - Inspector for the Vitebsk Region Vitaly Vovk, member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly, General Director of UP "Vitebskoblgaz" Petr Shershen, and the region's leadership.

"Vitebskoblgaz" is making serious

steps towards those who have decided to link their future with work and life in rural areas, creating opportunities not only for work but also for recreation, emphasized Petr Shershen. "It is right when large industrial enterprises take over weak agricultural producers onto their balance sheet," believes the general director. "In the place of the modern "Mazolovogaz" there was once the "Prizyv" collective farm, there were dilapidated buildings, a small number of livestock. We united to develop the agricultural enterprise and breathed new life into it."

For 9 months of this year, revenue from the sale of agricultural products amounted to Br7.1 million (114% of the same level last year), profit from sales - Br341 thousand. 176 employees work at the agricultural enterprise from the agro-town itself, nearby villages and Vitebsk, the average monthly salary is Br980.

Since the beginning of the year, two single-family residential buildings have been commissioned at "Mazolovogaz" agricultural enterprise in the neighboring village of Kalinovo, a ZSK-60 grain drying complex, a center for quality control of crop production, and the agronomic control and accounting center has been reconstructed. In total, the agricultural enterprise has 17 single-family and two 12-apartment buildings, and one dormitory on its balance sheet. Currently, another 12-apartment building is under construction in the agro-town for employees.
