Awards for achievements in culture and art were presented to cultural workers and creative teams of the Vitebsk region
The ceremony took place at the regional philharmonic hall. The laureates were congratulated by Vladimir Penin, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee. He thanked them for their work, noting that no matter how difficult it was, especially considering the pandemic situation, cultural workers continue to delight people with their creativity.
— The tasks facing the industry are being fulfilled, — noted Vladimir Petrovich. — People visit cultural centers, theaters, museums, and become better themselves by embracing beauty.
Vladimir Penin presented the Regional Executive Committee awards for high creative achievements in culture and arts in various nominations. The best club worker was recognized as Evgeny Nabeev, director of the folk theater at the Braslav District Cultural Center. For the past five years, Evgeny has been working with "living statues." This is a unique project, quite costly both financially and in terms of human resources.
— Our theater has about 50 statues – gold, silver, bronze. We perform all over Belarus, — shares the director. — It's quite an expensive pleasure. Costumes need to be specially treated, painted, and props selected. It takes up to three months to prepare one image. All our artists engage in creative work in their free time from their main jobs. Special training and gymnastics are needed so that the "living" sculptures can stand in one place for a long time without moving.
The team members are aged from 15 to 50. Evgeny is confident that an artist lives in each of us, and it is very important to awaken them.
In the nomination "Best Philharmonic Artist," the award went to vocalist Sergey Belousov. The best theater artist was named Valery Zimnitsky, an artist from the puppet theater "Belarusian Theater 'Lyalka'."
Awards were also presented to outstanding library and museum workers, masters of traditional crafts, and educators. The Director of the Center for Traditional Culture and Folk Art of the Dokshitsy District, Kristina Gmyrak, was awarded an Honorary Diploma of the Regional Executive Committee for many years of fruitful work and a significant personal contribution to the preservation of cultural heritage.
The head of the department of educational institutions of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, Marina Yurkevich, spoke highly of the cultural life of the Vitebsk region.
— The Vitebsk region employs gifted, creative, and highly artistic cultural workers. The region can be proud of its talented ensembles, students of children's art schools, and colleges. Museum workers and club organizations are held in high regard. All of you together make an invaluable contribution to the development of the country's culture, — noted Marina Bronislavovna.
The director of the Vitebsk Regional Museum of the Hero of the Soviet Union M. F. Shmyrev, Irina Shishkova, was awarded the badge of honor of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus "For contribution to the development of culture of Belarus". Irina Alexandrovna has been working in the field for over 30 years, 20 of which she has dedicated to the museum.
— Any award is an occasion to rethink what has been done and think about new projects. Today we are on the verge of new events and understand that we must not forget history, — noted Irina Alexandrovna. — In the implementation of new projects, we are moving away from the classical form of work, introducing new trends and tendencies. The museum staff, with whom its director shares the honor of receiving a high award, has many ideas and plans. Currently, the museum is implementing a new project called "Army Alphabet".
