Tax authorities in the Vitebsk region seized Br2.2 billion worth of excisable goods from illegal circulation in 10 months.

Tax authorities in the Vitebsk region seized excise goods worth over Br2.2 billion from illegal circulation in 10 months, the press center of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties for the Vitebsk region informed a BELTA correspondent. During control measures carried out by tax inspectorates of the Vitebsk region in January-October 2012, 462 violations of legislation regulating the production and circulation of excise goods were identified. 8.6 thousand liters of alcoholic, non-food alcohol-containing products, 8.8 million pieces of tobacco products, 1.4 thousand liters of petroleum products, 948 liters of malt beer, and 9.5 thousand liters of other excise goods were seized from illegal circulation. Excise goods worth Br1.5 billion were converted into state revenue. Based on the results of inspections, business entities engaged in the production and circulation of excise goods are to pay an additional Br2.5 billion in taxes to the budget. 167 business entities and 236 individuals were brought to administrative responsibility by judicial and tax authorities based on inspection materials.
