Vitebsk region tax authorities seized over Br1.5 billion worth of excisable goods from illegal circulation.

September 18, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Tax inspectorates of the Vitebsk region have seized excise goods worth over Br1.5 billion from illegal circulation in the first 8 months of the current year, the press center of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties of Belarus for the Vitebsk region informed a BELTA correspondent. During control measures carried out by the tax inspectorates of the Vitebsk region in January-August, 357 violations of the legislation regulating the production and circulation of excise goods were identified. 5.6 thousand liters of alcoholic, non-food alcohol-containing products, 7.1 million pieces of tobacco products, over 1 thousand liters of petroleum products, 906 liters of malt beer, and 9.5 thousand liters of other excise goods were seized from illegal circulation. Excise goods worth Br1.3 billion were converted to state revenue. Based on the results of inspections, business entities engaged in the production and circulation of excise goods are subject to additional tax payments to the budget exceeding Br2.4 billion. 117 business entities and 176 individuals were brought to administrative responsibility by judicial and tax authorities based on the inspection materials.
