Vitebsk region tax authorities calculated the income of "parasites"

Since the beginning of the year, tax inspectors in the region have identified undeclared income totaling approximately 17 billion rubles among working-age citizens who do not have official sources of income in Belarus.

Based on the results of reviewing requested declarations from 1.1 thousand residents of the region who do not participate in financing state expenditures, income tax totaling 2 billion rubles has been assessed. The registry compiled by tax authorities includes information on 32 thousand such individuals, of whom approximately 7.9 thousand reside in Vitebsk, and nearly 5 thousand more in Polotsk.

The work to identify undeclared income is conducted continuously by comparing incurred expenses with received income. Since the beginning of the year, following such monitoring, declarations have been requested from over 2 thousand citizens. Income tax and other payments totaling approximately 5 billion rubles have been assessed. The volume of income concealed from taxation by citizens identified in the first 9 months of the current year has exceeded 26 billion rubles.
