Vitebsk region tax authorities in the first half of the year, based on the results of inspections, additionally charged more than Br9.5 billion to the budget.

Tax inspectorates of the Vitebsk region in January-June of the current year, based on control measures, additionally charged over Br9.5 billion in taxes and administrative fines to the budget, the press center of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties Inspectorate for the Vitebsk region informed a BELTA correspondent. Over six months, more than 3.9 thousand inspections of compliance with legislation by economic entities were carried out, with violations detected in 93.2% of cases. The analytical work carried out by the inspectorates made it possible to increase the effectiveness of inspections by 5% compared to the same period in 2009, as well as to exclude their unjustified appointment and reduce the negative impact of control measures on the activities of conscientious taxpayers, the press service noted. In addition, control over the validity of VAT refunds prevented illegal reimbursement of Br7.7 billion from the budget. In total, in January-June, the revenues of the consolidated budget of the Vitebsk region amounted to almost Br1.9 trillion, or 101.8% of the plan. Over Br1 trillion was received into the republican budget, which is 101.5% of the plan, and about Br888.4 billion into the local budget (102.2%). The main sources of revenue are excise taxes - their share was 33.4% of the total revenue, VAT - 22.7%, personal income tax - 12.3%, profit tax - 9.1%. As of July 1, the debt of economic entities in the region for payments to the budget amounted to about Br12.1 billion and decreased by Br8.3 billion compared to the beginning of the year. In the course of taking measures for compulsory recovery of debt, tax authorities attracted Br192.8 billion to the budget, or 10.2% of the total revenue. Over 460 thousand taxpayers, including more than 16.5 thousand legal entities, almost 30 thousand individual entrepreneurs, as well as over 415.6 thousand individuals, participate in the formation of the revenue part of the consolidated budget of the region. -0-
