Vitebsk region tax authorities uncovered over 400 cases of illegal citizen activities in January-April

Tax inspectorates of the Vitebsk region in January-April revealed over 400 cases of citizens conducting entrepreneurial activities without state registration, the press center of the regional inspectorate of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties informed a BELTA correspondent. Following the control measures, more than 150 citizens who committed the offense repeatedly were brought to administrative responsibility. The amount of administrative fines imposed amounted to Br35 million. Property and illegally obtained income totaling about Br55 million were confiscated to the state. Among the violations identified were 65 cases of individuals providing apartment repair services without state registration as individual entrepreneurs. In total, following thematic operational inspections for four months, funds and property worth over Br2 billion were withdrawn from shadow turnover, and administrative sanctions totaling almost 460 million were imposed on violators. At the same time, the number of operational inspections decreased by almost a third compared to the same period in 2010 and amounted to 957, each of which revealed violations of tax and other legislation. -0-
