Vitebsk region tax authorities uncovered three sham businesses in January-July

Tax authorities of the Vitebsk region identified three sham enterprises during control measures in January-July, the press center of the regional tax inspection ministry informed a BELTA correspondent. Based on the results of inspections of such business entities that were engaged in concealing tax objects, Br3.6 billion was additionally charged to the budget, including Br2.8 billion in taxes and fees. For example, during an inspection of one of the construction organizations in Vitebsk, an overstatement of costs was established due to the unjustified inclusion in the cost of goods sold of remuneration accrued and paid through the company's cash desk under contract agreements. Such agreements were concluded with individuals who were not on the organization's staff and did not actually perform the work. In total, during the audited period of the enterprise's activities, its officials drew up about 300 fictitious acts of work performed for about Br350 million. Tax officials also identified 18 business entities that used the services of sham enterprises for illegal minimization of taxes paid. These counterparty organizations will have to pay an additional Br1.9 billion in taxes to the budget.
