Vitebsk region tax authorities seized Br65.5 million worth of income and goods from shadow circulation in January.

Tax inspectorates of the Vitebsk region in January seized about Br65.5 million worth of illegally obtained income and inventory from the shadow economy, the press center of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties Inspectorate for the Vitebsk region informed a BELTA correspondent. In January, tax authorities specialists conducted almost 50 unscheduled operational inspections. During the verification work, 17 cases of business entities operating without a license were identified, and income from such activities in the amount of Br59.4 million was established. Based on the inspection materials, 13 administrative protocols were drawn up. Violators were brought to administrative responsibility in the form of fines totaling Br7.7 million. Over Br15 million of illegally obtained income was confiscated in favor of the state. For example, during the inspection of a beauty salon of a private enterprise in the regional center, a case of providing solarium services without a proper license was revealed. The income from illegal activities amounted to about Br6 million. The inspection materials have been sent to the economic court of the Vitebsk region for bringing the guilty parties to administrative responsibility. -0-
