Grain harvest in Belarusian farms exceeded 3 million tons
August 6, Minsk / Olga Belyavskaya - BELTA /. Belarusian farms have surpassed the 3 million ton grain harvest mark, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food told BELTA.
As of this morning, agricultural organizations in the country have harvested 3 million 265 thousand tons of grain, including 407 thousand tons over the past day. Farms in the Minsk region lead in grain harvesting with 785 thousand tons. Farms in the Brest region have harvested 709 thousand tons of grain since the start of the harvest, Grodno region - 587 thousand tons, Gomel region - 550 thousand tons, Mogilev region - 290 thousand tons, Vitebsk region - 241 thousand tons.
Grain and pulse crops (excluding corn) have been mowed on 832 thousand hectares, which is 35% of the harvesting area. Farms in the Brest region are ahead in harvesting rates, having already mowed half of the grain area. In the Gomel region, 46% has been harvested, Grodno region - 41%, Minsk region - 32%, Mogilev region - 22%, Vitebsk region - 19%. At the same time, the highest grain yield is in the farms of the Grodno region, where it reaches 47.5 centners per hectare. The average yield across the country is 39.3 centners per hectare, which is 2.4 centners more compared to the same date last year.
193.8 thousand tons of grain have been delivered under state orders, which is 19% of the plan.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Food requires farms to maximize the use of grain harvesting equipment in the fields. Currently, 11,232 grain harvesters are involved in the harvesting campaign. At the same time, 286 units of such equipment are idle in some districts due to technical reasons. "Breakdowns must be eliminated as soon as possible, all combines must work, especially since the weather conditions currently allow us to harvest at a high pace," the Ministry of Agriculture and Food noted. -0-
